The mosaic band on the rim is where the money went. Small tiles, properly leaded, no gaps.

I bought it for the glass and it is the bronze column I keep noticing. The fluting picks up light down one side, and the scalloped foot sits flat on a bedside table without a wobble. With the overhead off it reads properly warm rather than yellow, and the shade spreads it far enough to read by. A month in and I would choose it again.

Eight panels and I went looking for the seam that did not line up. There is not one. The finial threads on straight and sits flush.

It arrived double-boxed with the shade separated from the column and foam cut to shape around both. Nothing shifted in transit. After six weeks on the desk the bronze finish has not marked and the leading is still dark rather than going grey, which is the thing that usually gives these away.

Standard E26 socket, so the bulb I already had went straight in. Warm and even from the first evening, with no fiddling.
