Bedside table, next to whatever paperback I am halfway through. It is the only light on after eleven and it is enough to find the door by.

Spooky is a small stained glass night light: a ghost in a floppy hat, reading a book in a beaded clawfoot basin. Soft warm glow, built in LED, and every visitor picks it up.

Slotted it into the gap on the bookshelf where a stack had fallen over. The turquoise sits oddly well against paperback spines.
The hallway console gets it from September onward. Everyone assumes it is seasonal. It has not moved since.
Desk corner, beside the mug. Small enough that it does not fight the monitor and warm enough that I stopped using the overhead.
The glass beads catch the light before the panels do, so the bowl genuinely reads as full of water. I was not expecting that from a photo.
Heavier in the hand than six inches suggests. Real leaded glass and real cast feet, not a resin lump with a sticker on the bottom.
Bought it on a whim and it earned its spot within a week. It throws a soft turquoise ring onto the table around it once the room goes dark, which I had not expected from something this small. Warm rather than bright, and easy to leave on all evening.
switched off its still a little glass bowl with a ghost in it, which is more than most night lights manage during the day. looks good on the shelf either way
Bought it as a joke gift for myself in early spring and it has quietly become the thing I switch on first when I get home. The ghost is reading, which I did not clock in the listing photos, and the hat flops over at exactly the right angle, and the whole thing is somehow both very silly and quite carefully made. The bronze on the feet is a proper finish rather than paint, the honeycomb pattern lines up around the corners, and the LED sits low enough that you never see a hot spot through the glass. My partner thought it would last a fortnight. It is April.
No bulb to buy, no switch to hunt for. Plug and glow.
Three separate people have asked where it came from. One of them asked twice.
Teal and turquoise rather than the flat blue I braced for. It sits with the rest of the room instead of shouting at it.
